To use 5G, you’ll need:

  • A 5G data plan - this includes our Unlimited Max data plan and all of our Red plans (above 1GB of data)
  • To be in an area with 5G

Unlimited 5G data plans

If you want to access the benefits of 5G speed and get super-fast downloads, UHD streaming and not have to worry about data, our Unlimited Max plan could be the perfect plan for your new 5G phone.

And if you’d like to pair YouTube Premium, Amazon Prime, Spotify Premium, or a NOW TV Entertainment Pass with your 5G plan, take a look at our Unlimited Max with Entertainment plan.

If you think you won’t need unlimited data, choose a 5G Red SIM only plan - you’ll need to pick a plan that has more than 1GB of data to access 5G speeds (and be in an area with 5G coverage). These plans also come with an added Entertainment option.

5G SIM only plans

If you already have a 5G-enabled phone and you need a new SIM card and data plan, our 5G SIM only plans are designed to maximise the speed capability of your 5G phone in a 5G area. And if you’re in an area that doesn’t have 5G yet, your 5G SIM only plan will automatically switch to our award-winning 4G network or WiFi, if it’s available.

You’ll need to pick a plan which has more than 1GB of data to access the speed and power of 5G. Choose from our 24 month and 12 monthly 5G SIM only contracts. 

5G on Pay as you go

When you buy a Pay as you go 5G phone, you’ll also need to have a 5G-ready Pay as you go Bundle to enjoy proper 5G speeds.

Choose from either our £30 or £50 bundles, both of which are 5G-ready.

You’ll need a 5G-enabled phone to connect to the 5G network, as a device which normally uses 4G won't automatically upgrade to 5G. You’ll also need a 5G plan, and be in an area with 5G coverage.

If you are using 5G and you move into an area that only has a 4G, 3G or 2G signal, your phone will automatically swap to that instead. It will switch back to 5G as soon as a 5G signal is available.

Yes, you can – just adjust your phone settings as you normally would to toggle between using WiFi and mobile data. You don’t have to use 5G constantly.

Our 5G network is available at no extra cost, but the Unlimited plan you’ll need to use 5G and your 5G phone may be more expensive, as you’re paying for a premium experience.
